Hello, I haven’t wrote on my blog for a while. I’m still beavering away at my children’s book portfolio and making Lino prints that I sell online and with stockists.
But i wanted to share a little update; last year I had a beautiful baby girl! The last 5 months have been a whirlwind of sleepless nights, lots of nappy changes but lots of love and laughter too.
This has meant I’ve had to take a creative approach to continue making work around the demands of parenthood. Inspired by children’s book end papers, I’ve started making small stamps that ive printed into repeat patterns. They started off as prints to decorate the nursery, but ive enjoyed making them so much, I’ve continued and plan to make them into a calendar.
Making small stamps means the carving and printing process can be broken down into small windows of time that can fit around a sleeping baby. It’s brought a playful and experimental element to my work, and I’m really looking forward to see where it takes me next.
I hope you are having a lovely start to 2025!
